For Medicover / International Student Accident And Repatriation (Insurer: Chubb European Group SE) Policies:

If you wish to make a claim for Medical Expenses, you can submit your claim online at www.chubbclaims.ie.

Please review the relevant Insurance Product Information Document (IPID) before submitting your claim. These documents contain key benefits and exclusions of your policy. Please remember depending on what plan you have chosen there may be an excess applicable of up to €200.00. This means that any claim under this amount will not be covered.

A policy excess is the amount towards a claim for which you are responsible to pay. Any amount over the policy excess will be paid by the insurer per valid claim. Please refer to your policy documentation for full policy terms and conditions, including information relating to any excess applicable to your policy.

Medicover – on a course of one academic year or less

This policy covers students enrolled on a course of one year or less.

Our selection of comprehensive medical insurance policies provide medical expenses cover ranging from €1 million to €5 million, depending on the policy you choose.

Students can benefit from public and private hospital treatment, family compassionate visits when severely ill or injured, and complimentary travel cover within the European Union for up to 14 days, depending on the policy selected, subject to the individual policy terms and conditions

Upon purchase students are provided with a medical assistance number which operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and contains multilingual capabilities.

Medicover Student Insurance is underwritten by Chubb European Group SE.

Study in Ireland, Accident and repatriation – on a course of more than one academic year

These policies cover students in Ireland enrolled on a course of more than one year.

The Irish Life Health DAC policy covers you for Hospitalisation and Day Case Procedures in selected Public Hospitals, as well as cover for MRI, CT and PET CT scans and other out patient benefits.

The Chubb European Group SE policy provides cover for emergency repatriation and funeral expenses as well as injury benefit, personal liability, and cover for holidays to the EEA or EU for up to 14 days.

Study in Ireland, International Student Accident and Repatriation policies are underwritten by Irish Life Health DAC & Chubb European Group SE respectively. Should this be caps ?

To make changes to your policy, please send us an email to studyandprotect@arachas.ie with the change you would like to make, your policy certificate number and full name and a member of our team will be happy to assist you.

If you have changed the dates of travel from the dates that are shown on your policy certificate, please email studyandprotect@arachas.ie with your policy certificate number, full name, the revised dates of travel and the reason for the change. One of our team will then be able to assist and advise further.

If you avail of any of our Medicover products and you wish to visit a GP in relation to an unforeseen accident or illness, you can visit any GP in your local area. You must pay for the medical expenses yourself, and claim back by visiting www.chubbclaims.ie. You can upload any relevant receipts/invoices you have online for the insurer to review your claim.

Please note the policy does not cover any medical expenses relating to pre-existing conditions or general health check-ups. For more information, please refer to your policy documentation for full policy terms and conditions.

If you require emergency treatment, and the expenses were greater than you can afford to pay yourself (above €250.00) you can contact the medical emergency helpline (01 4401762).

Please note where an excess applies on your policy, you will be responsible to cover the expenses relating to this excess, even if your claim is covered.

If you avail of our Study in Ireland, Accident and Repatriation product you can download the Irish life health app from the app store where you will find information on how to submit your claim. Alternatively you can email Irish life health at heretohelp@irishlifehealth.ie for further assistance.

Depending on the policy that you have chosen, it may be possible to attend treatment in private hospital. For Medicover Policies, please see your Insurance Product Information Document and Policy Wording for full policy terms and conditions. . For Irish Life Health Study in Ireland Policies, please refer to the Irish Life claims team before seeking any private hospital treatment.

If you have a Medicover policy, and you have a spouse or child(ren) who is/ are dependent on your visa, you can purchase a separate policy per spouse/ child. You will need to enter your college name as the college attended, and ensure you hold a valid Medicover policy for the same duration. If you hold a Study in Ireland Health insurance policy, please contact us and we can request to add them as a dependant to your health insurance policy, at an additional premium.

Learner Protection, sometimes called Protection for Enrolled Learners (PEL), provides security for students and their course fees in the unlikely event that their school or college closes for reasons such as loss of accreditation or financial distress. In the unlikely event of this happening, , Study and Protect will ensure placement of students into a similar course or where that is not possible, refund the course fees to the student.
